if you can't beat 'em, join 'em

This summer, I'm looking forward to bohemian prints, sheer skirts, chunky leather sandals, straw hats; the works! Though I've been thrift hunting for a maxi skirt for what seems like forever now, I've had trouble finding anything worth buying.

On the other hand, my many hours of internet browsing have led me to great discoveries in 70s style sandals! The key features I looked for were thicker, more stable straps, real leather and preferably a little heel to add height to my 5' frame

The best pair I found were these Matiko wedge sandals. They are 100% leather and have a 2 inch heel. Their sleek enough to build a great frame but have two cons:
  • They are "online only", which adds $20.oo to the
  • $148.00 price tag
Regardless, I am in love with the shoe, and if I can scrape together enough birthday money, these babies might just win me over; I'll put the raybans off for a bit.

What do you think?

I think you should keep looking for something cheaper, you'll definitely find it. I don't know how long you've been saving money for the Raybans.. Mmm, tough decision though.

  24. good shoes, but honey there is always something cheaper out there! Not sure where you are at but in California (at Target) Mossimo sandals which are very similar looking are only $30. The shoes actualy look at little like Dolce Vita knock offs. anyways keep me posted with what you decide to do!

  27. I adore lengthly skirts but NYC streets can be pretty grosse for me to be rocking them often. I think if you don't find a better pair within the upcoming weeks before summer go for the splurge. You can mispalce your raybans but not these wedges.
