Their first stop is Kachchh, Gujarat. The spring 2011 collection features beautiful dresses in pretty patterns and cute shapes and sizes. The collection has a feminine and modern twist but mixes perfectly with the traditional feel the brand aims to embody.
1. KAKI DRESS / 2. HABANA DIAMOND DRESS / 3. GULABI GAYATRI DRESS
The dresses in the collection (my favourites are those in prints check out more basics: here) are made in pretty patterns and comfortable fits. I love the loose dresses with a cinched waist. This summer pattern and prints are in, they're so much fun to wear. In the city or by the beach!
1. RESHMA PANTS WITH PAINTED POCKET TANK 2. (my fave) BOYFRIEND SHIRT
These give girls a more boyish silhouette but I think the prints keep you looking pretty and feminine. The pants remind me of Proenze Schoulers pretty tribal print pants, which I've already told you guys I am a huge fan of. The boyfriend shirt is my absolute favourite; it's a pretty style and the colour and print are P E R F E C T.
To dye the dresses they use a method called Bandh-ani. Their website features a video on their adventure through the region and discovering, first hand, the dyeing process, used to dye the fabrics used in most of their pieces.
I think they are doing something so different and bring the excitement of travel and experience to each piece they create. The design process is so different when it's inspired by real people, real stories and rooted in the experience of travel. I can't wait to see what they do next!
